Q.   I am trying to prune my telephone’s collection of programs. Any shortcuts to come across the ones that should find the hook?

Neither Apple nor Google’s operating methods report which programs have gone discounted the longest, but their tracking of battery and bandwidth usage by apps can offer a rough indication of which ones have retained your focus.
